Hotel Alpi
The “Hotel Alpi” was once a popular hotel in the center of Bolzano. Shut down in 2013, it became a temporary asylum home. After the residency received some negative publicity by the press, the hotel was considered as an obscure and ‘dangerous’ place. My aim was to write an article about the asylum home, but due to the negative experience with the press, nobody was allowed to enter the building any more. This is why I started to capture the rumour-surrounded place by observing it from outside, listening to the voices around – to find out what was true about the stories and to draw my own picture of the Hotel Alpi.
